Dermal Fillers…
Dermal fillers are an ever more popular topic.
We have heard of them, we have seen them, good and bad.
You may be thinking of taking the plunge but are unsure if it’s right for you.
In this blog post I aim to address factors to consider to make an informed choice.
Will I look fake?
One of the most common fears and misconceptions surrounding dermal fillers.
At Dr Olivia Clinics one of my most important considerations for my clients is the provision of natural looking results.
One syringe of filler equates to ⅕ of a teaspoon of liquid. This explains how difficult it is to make someone ‘overdone’ in one treatment. That being said, who you go to and what their ethos is can mean the difference between a good result and a bad one.
With me, you can be rest assured I’ll use safe techniques, and provide you with an optimal outcome.
I love to make my clients feel happy and confident, with others commenting on their fresh new look as opposed to pointing the finger.
Is It safe?
As a dentist my training in facial anatomy is extensive. I know all the layers covering the facial bones, the muscle attachments, the danger zones in great detail. This puts you in safe hands and minimises the risk of adverse effects. You should not compromise when it comes to your face, and please do not be tempted by flash deals. Look up your practitioner’s credentials and choose wisely.
Like any invasive type treatment, there are risks involved. These are RARE with my expertise in safe practice. The risks associated with dermal fillers are detailed in my consent process, so you can make an informed decision on your willingness to take such risk.
You should expect reassurance from me as I wouldn’t not carry out a treatment on a client that I wouldn’t perform on myself or my loved ones.
Will I Regret It?
Why would you regret having a filler treatment? The cost? The opinions of others? The end result?
In my clinic I aim to be as transparent as possible. I will outline the expectations we have for your individual results, longevity, cost, aftercare considerations. If you are hesitant, I will not encourage you to proceed. Dissatisfaction is much more common if you are unsure about any of these factors and you should consider your decision carefully.
The opinions of others will differ. This should not impact your individual decision. As a consenting adult it is your choice how you wish to treat yourself. How a treatment might make you feel happy within and exude confidence may not be reflected in others’ opinions. You can tell no one or you can tell whom you wish. The opinion of others on how you spend your own disposable income will vary!
If you are thinking repeatedly about having a specific treatment, or you have an area of concern but don’t know how to improve it, chat with me any time.
